• Ingredients & Materials

Because paper/emery board nail files are physical grooming tools rather than cosmetic formulations, they do not have a chemical ingredient list. Instead, they are made from:

  • Base Core: Heavy-duty compressed paperboard or flexible wood/foam core.

  • Abrasive Surface: Coated abrasive grit (typically aluminum oxide or silicon carbide particles bonded to the paper).

  How to Use

  1. Prep: Ensure your nails are clean and completely dry before you start filing.

  2. Shape: Use the coarser side of the file to gently shorten your nails and establish your preferred shape (square, oval, almond, etc.).

  3. Smooth: Use the finer side to refine the edges, smooth away rough spots, and seal the nail tips to prevent future splitting.

  4. Technique (Crucial): Always file your nails in one consistent direction rather than sawing back and forth. Sawing weakens the nail's keratin layers and causes peeling.

  5. Aftercare: Gently brush away any dust and finish with a hand cream or cuticle oil to keep your hands moisturized.
